The first cold morning you walk out and the water isn’t frozen solid, you will be glad someone thought about the window placement. This 8×8 chicken coop went through the design stage with someone who actually keeps birds: roost bars at the right height, nesting boxes you can reach without crawling, a feed bin that keeps the bag out of the garage and away from whatever’s been chewing holes in the corner.

The screened window pushes heat out in July and the solid framing cuts the wind in January. Nothing fancy, just the stuff that makes keeping chickens feel less like a chore and more like the reason you started.
